The Crimson Tide wasted no time in putting some offense on the board with one swing of the bat. Cobie Vance, in the two-hole hitter spot, crushed one deep over the center field wall to put Alabama ahead 1-0 after one half inning of play.

An interference call at second base charged to Alabama’s Daniel Cucjen awarded Clark Egan third base after he got on board with a lead off double later in the same inning. The Razorbacks notched it back up at one run a piece with a ground out.

Arkansas jumped out in front for their only lead of the game and carried a one-run advantage into the third inning. Cody Scroggins ripped an RBI single to center field to put Arkansas out in front.

In the top half of the third, Alabama posted one of those spectacular looking crooked numbers on the scoreboard and took a 4-2 lead over the home team. Two Tide base runners stood in scoring position and an unassisted ground-out to first from Chandler Taylor pushed one run across. Vance added the second on a wild pitch and Will Haynie added an exclamation point in the frame with a home run to left center.

The Tide padded their lead in the fourth with three hits to score four runs to take an 8-2 lead. Georgie Salem singled up the middle to drive one run in. In the next at bat, Chandler Taylor swung the boom stick for a three-run homer.

The Tide’s lead was cut in half by the Hogs in the seventh with a solo shot from Egan and a run batted in from Carson Shaddy. Arkansas tacked on two more in the next inning when Chad Spanberger singled to left center.

Geoffrey Bramblett earned the win for the Tide on the mound, holding the Razorbacks scoreless from the third through the sixth innings. Thomas Burrows picked up his 11th save of the season.

The Crimson Tide will go for the series win on Saturday against the Razorbacks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT and the game will be carried on the SEC Network+.
